EXERCISE 1 - FUTURE WILL AND SHALL

The auxiliary verb "shall" is used to express the future in the first person singular or plural (I shall / will love you). Although, generally, "shall" is the very formal equivalent of "will", "shall" has some modal values not shared by "will". For example, it is used to express offerings, very formal promises (like the votes of a wedding), or regulations in official documents, in these contexts, "shall" can not be replaced by "will".
Complete the following with "will" or "shall". There is only one possibility for each gap.
1_________________I call a taxi for you? No, thank you. We'd rather walk.
2. Take these letters to the post,_________________you?
3. Passengers___________________not leave their luggage unattended.
4. (Angry villagers). They________________not build an airport! We_____________________(not) let it happen!
5. Mr. Smith would like to talk to you._____________________you see him now?
6._____________________we go shopping in Oxford Street? Are you mad? It's Saturday. Oxford Street________________________be packed.
7. Board members_________________be elected yearly and_________________not be re-elected more than once.
8. I_________________ have some roast potatoes and a salad, please.
9. I am determined that my son_______________________have the best education.
